I'm not going to discourage people exploring 3D printing.... but weight is really important to me. The P1 JH heads alone can testify to the solid resin quality. Could you imagine just for an example selling somebody a spare head for the same price as a 3D printed replica? You'd feel like a total crook.... I'm a huge fan of heavy statues like the Prime 1 Preds & Aliens. Other companies have hollow eggshell statues that feel like a total rip.

"High quality polystone," as some companies call it, is an oxymoron. It's literally resin diluted with powdered stone to make it heavier and cheaper (and companies care more about that last part). That dilution also makes it more fragile.
Granted, keeping it solid improves durability and if polystone were the only option, I'd want it solid or at the very least thick. But I'd prefer a different material altogether. Doesn't have to be light as a feather, but it wouldn't be the end of the world if these Predator statues weighed 40 lbs instead of 90.

Indeed.
And factory can add these substances to resin because it is a mixing and casting process (pressurized and/or rotating). 3D printing depends on uniform melting/attaching.
I have an old type 3d printer and thinking about new one suitable for 1:4 scale (large resin parts). But from my previous experience i know the whole 3d printing process needs so much time (everything you have to spare). Designing / post-processing / tweaking slicer / printing / cleaning / assembling / then the whole paint process.
an avg part takes 6 hrs each, so a 1:5 or 1:4 statue take multiple days that is the printing time alone.
I was quit good at it, but the time it consumes is bit discouraging to start it again (with newer machine / process). The costs are high too. Only benefit is you can design and make a few crazy statues (or switchout parts) you really like.

I hear you man, it's just my preference....but I refer to resin being high quality in my eyes as solid throughout with no hollow spots inside. The bases can have hollow areas which is fine, but the figure itself needs to be heavy and not fragile if you knock on it. Weight to me equates that high price tag even though the resin compounds don't cost much.
The only negative to me is you have to be careful you don't set your statues on flimsy displays that can't handle the load. I don't have that problem so I say keep them heavy!!! Hahaha

Just like with P1 direct, the shipping kills the deal.

It is showing almost $700 shipping for me to the Midwest. So just like I said with the P1 direct "deals", the shipping kills it.

Do you not have this one already ?
I paid $4200 for mine (bonus version with some damaged paint), so close to $3000 is not bad.
