Exclamation Sideshowcollectors (Freaks) forum still not safe

Just a warning..

The Sideshowcollectors (Freaks) Forum still is troubled by spyware.

Yesterday (april 19th) I visited the forum website again, after avoiding it for a while due to spyware attacks (never have/had spyware attacks anywhere else on the net). This time my virusscanner was not quick enough I guess, bcs after a few seconds on the page a java program loaded in my pc (end of day at work) and a pop-up appeared looking like 'windows recovery' and warning me that my pc had bad sectors on harddrive and other critical failures. It has a button saying click here for ordering the 'full version' to get rid of the problems. But it is a trojan horse designed to get your creditcard info and such when you do.

So be aware!

If it happens just use your real anti-spyware removal program to get rid of this annoying stuff, before you shut pc down (otherwise it goes deeper in your profile settings). Man I hate this stuff Good luck and safe surfing

The ICT guy at work fixed it two days later (in the meantime could not use it). He said this spyware switched some important settings off in the Windows profile, so it pops-up automatically and protect / hide itself at same time. After removing, you have to switch settings on again manually..

I haven't had any issues either at home or work on their site lately.

Sorry for the necropost. Is anyone else getting a phishing alert today?

Yes, having the same "unsafe website" alert for SideShow Freaks.

FYI ...getting the alert with Safari and Google Chrome. Wondering what happened there .....
