This. I like the freedom of poseability.

The beauty here is that the regular ESB Boba PF may have a large or open ES. Waiting for in hand pics and reviews is the most sensible thing to do. The regular version is enough for those of us getting the HT with the ROTJ blaster. On the same note, I wonder if the choice of the ROTJ blaster as the PF exclusive came about because of the HT 1/4 figure. Once commited to an NRD on the exclusive a casual Fett fan may be more inclined to keep their order if they already have "the other blaster" from the HT ROTJ version.
I just don't trust Sideshow enough to commit to a rewards points purchase on Boba...but I do Hot Toys.

Hmm
After comparing picts i really prefer the mixed media of SS
it's much more important to me than poseability.
The good news is everybody has the choice and i'm happily surprised that they propose both at the same time !

Iron Man power punching the ground. Captain America throwing shield. Boba Fett pointing his blaster. Darth Vader with the neutral stance and lightsaber ignited.
And even then, you have to worry of joint degradation. As Sonic said, there's also that factor of mannequin-like in many poses even when you do your best to make them seem as natural as possible.
It's true that HT almost always delivers in regard of paint apps and (especially) face sculpts, but I'd pick a good 1/4 statue over an entire 1/6 dolls line.
Not to mention that statues can achieve poses that you'll never be able to get with dolls. Example, the Fury of the Beast. Or Daredevil Comiquette, Hellboy PF. A mid flight pose for Iron Man. Let's put the new Sideshow Hulks side to side with the HT Hulk and see which one is more impressive, flexibility or not.
I'm not bashing Hot Toys btw. As I said in this particular case I'd pick the HT Boba. 1/4, no visible joints, lots of details and accessories, more guarantee of final quality, and price is basically the same.

Well, I guess, as with all these things, it comes down to preference. Certainly "dolls" don't work (IMHO) for females or figures which require showing off naked parts.....

By the way, if HT is cheaper than Sideshow and you have a way to avoid the ball sack stand someway, I'd go for that. More likely that details are going to be spot on.
I still think that both the doll and the PF are too expensive, btw.

I own 4 HT and could never get them in the poses they show, plus too many little accessories for my liking. So I would go with the PF.

I can definitely appreciate having the freedom to pose something how you like, but when the solid statue option is posed as well as this, it is an easy choice for me...

Nice move from SS
maybe a consequence of their new partnership with HT or maybe totaly random.

The bigger the size the less i change accessories but having a lot of accessories gives you many possibilities of display.
Both product are the same size but doesn't achieve the same collectors goal.
one can't take place of the other one. Differences are too important.
if room and money isn't a problem the fans should take both imho.

Females?
What are you talking about?
I've never seen any of these "female" you speak of, down here in my cave.
