I actually don't agree. I think the only reason people favor SS's is the price. Don't get me wrong, it's a big difference. But people will convince themselves (and try to convince others) that the SS one is better because it's cheaper. The SS is just goofy looking.

its not bad but i would have preferred another masked portrait with a cocky sneer. this new one doesnt fit the rest of the statue imo, its a non-issue for me though because like i said the original portrait is perfect

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

I love the portrait on this and I really love the way the collar was done but there are many aspects to the SS piece I prefer.

I like the snow base much more, I like the costume more and I like the pose more.

The price did make my decision a lot easier but wasn't the sole reason I ordered SS.

Yea, if this XM Sabertooth blew me away, then I would've gone the extra mile and paid the extra money to get this. Hell, I've done it before, too.

But I really prefer the SSC Sabertooth more. I just happen to like the pose and sculpt more. It's not because it's cheaper.

Hmm, I'm having trouble deciding.

SS $625 - I only like one or two angles
XM $799 - I love it at all angles

To anybody interested in this piece...what are your pros/cons so far? Not trying to slam the piece or anything because its great but I do have a few concerns..

Pros: The portrait and the mane is perfect I really enjoy the visual

Cons: I cant help but see the base as a clutter of not so pleasing greys and silvers. Without stepping on anybody's toes ..i see it as the Sabretooth figure is near perfect but they posed him standing on junk..twisted metal and rubble. has nothing to do with the character himself. I can see why they keep putting him on a snow base to represent a beast of nature in the wilderness but this XM base loses me. I want to like it more than I do. Second, why is the sculpt so smooth? He lacks texture and definition.

Of course its just my opinion, which can change but as of right now I would just like to hear different views on the piece.

Only con i have is the alternate portrait, everything else is my ideal sabertooth. Especially like the base, as i've always associated the xmen/mutants characters with machinery, sentinels, danger rooms, laboratories etc. Pros is everything except alt portrait.

There is texture on the brown part of the suit. Overall I think the statue looks phenomenal, my favorite male sculpt from XM.
