FedEx Customs and Tweeterhead error
My Teela statue arrived at FedEx Stansted on 14 July and the expected delivery was 19 July.
As I was aware of delays due to customs backlogs I believed this was the reason for the delay.
I emailed FedEx on Friday 23 July requesting an update.
Today I received a reply from the GTS clearance team informing me that Tweeterhead had shown a zero value on the Commercial Invoice which meant the parcel had been seized by customs. FedEx had contacted Chad to request a copy of the correct commercial invoice and set a deadline of 24 July. No reply was received and I have been informed by FedEx customer services that the package will be either returned or destroyed.
I am furious as through no fault of my own it looks likely I will not receive this statue. Not only am I out of pocket for the price of the statue but also the $250 I paid for shipping.
The reason for this post is to alert international customers that if items are delayed by customs to chase it up immediately.
