What's the reason for keeping toys in their packages?

Let's see - my point of view is that not only does it make the figure more valuable in the long run - but it's also better to look at! Such detail goes into a lot of the packages - they are like works of art themselves! I love my toys in their packages and would have to buy an extra if I wanted an open figure.

I know some people don't keep their figures MIP but I do and I love it!

I'm not alone out there - who else loves their toys in the original packages?

I admire them - and if I do want to play with them I buy an extra!

some figures look good in package, but i'd say most do not. they are packaged in weird poses more often then not and very rarely do their accesories get shown off nicely.

I wonder if you get a lot of them and your toy room starts to look like a toy store and then you feel like you own a whole toy store which is every ones secret dream (with all due respect to Fraud or was it Fried), if that is the reason for keeping them in the packages??

Also they won't get dusty. or greasy paws all over them and if the doggie chews he/she will have to work through the wrapping first.....??

I open everything and display everything.
Mostly the higher end comic and movie stuff.
I get the same enjoyment as a comic statue.
Would I leave a statue in the box???? No way!

Screw the packaging. I dont have room for all that anyways.

I agree with this too, although I'd also say the overall quality of figures has significantly dropped in the past couple of years, as a lot of companies seem to be trying to cut corners to save money, so I don't buy all that much these days, because I find that these days, too often, the quality just isn't there unfortunately.

I can't believe adults play with toys. Leave them in the package.
