I don't recommend a siphon feed airbrush for painting statues and figures.
They operate a bit different than a gravity feed and you will need more airpressure in order to get the paint to spray more even. They are fine for basic base coating and maybe some basic highlights and shadows. I have used several but I find the higher airpressure and inconsistent spray patterns a bit frustrating.
And yes to Ickwinz, the new Badger Renegade Velocity is quit the amazing brush. I have been using this for all my flesh tone work. This brush atomizes paint better than any airbrush I have ever used and this helps to insure good clean smooth transition in color and tone variation. GREAT AIRBRUSH! But you will find that you will still need your Sotar 20/20 for all the super fine line detailing. Out of the 10 airbrushes I own, the Sotar 20/20 and the Velocity are my main 2 airbrushes these days.

Oh well, I'll buy one at Kit Builders this October.

Rick the one with the res on the side is the Renegade.
I really like the fact that it's adjustable for left handers like me.
I've heard some good things about the Paasche Talon too.

No, I use the gravity feed (top cup) Velocity, the side feed is the Renegade Spirit. The side feed works the same as a gravity feed in respect to spray, but I find that they are harder to clean and maintain.

Save your pennies and get a Sotar ... trust me, it's a better value at 4 times the price.
