I wish there was more firefly, Baldwin is great on chuck though i'm on season 2.

Hmmm maybe the first two series come close but the third's cliched at best, the fourth is woeful beyond all belief, and the last three involve Buffy being whiny beyond all belief...each series is punctuated with the occasional good episode, but is generally quite hack kneed and haven't dated well.

But that is just my opinion/

But is it even a fair comparison? I don't think so. Firefly lasted what basically amounted to a half season while Buffy had, if I remember correctly, 7 seasons to flesh out their characters and a great spin-off series in Angel. Had Firefly run that long or even half that long I think it would have developed into something that far surpassed what we saw in the Buffyverse. Alas we'll never know though.

I think it's a fair comparison, but I see your point. I wish Firefly had lasted longer, but it didn't. It might have ended up being a great series, or it might have flamed out like the second season of Twin Peaks, or the second season of Heroes, or the third season of Veronica Mars. Buffy didn't do that. The characters and stories kept the majority of its fans hooked.

I finally started watching Castle last night, the first 2 episode were great. Don't know how I overlooked this show.

I watched season 1 of castle, I really enjoyed it, need to buy season 2.

Buffy was fine up until season 6, Season 7 was okay. The first 5 were better though, really liked glory in season 5.

Firefly could have been as great as Buffy and Angel. It did not even get to start before they snuffed it.

Angel was also snuffed for no real reason That show could easily have made it 2 season 7 as Buffy did.

This also needs saying.
The Buffy series may not have aged as well as other shows, Buffy may not be a timeless classic as other shows. But I do like that it has this "stuck in the 90's" style, it would not have been Buffy without it and that's one of the things that makes it special, it takes you back to a simpler and maybe a better time.
