Zombie Spidey statue size
Saw this today at WWLA, and boy was I a bit disappointed.
Great sculpt. Great proto-paint.
But I think this is being solicited at 12". (I might be wrong and usually am)
The actual figures are more like 9". The base was at least 3" tall.
The Zombie Spidey and Captain America action figures were displayed right next to it, and the size difference were minimal.
Anybody else see this? Whatcha think?

The con's not an option for me so I haven't seen them in person, but most sites I've seen solicit them as 9", so that's an accurate guess. Considering the low price you're paying for two FS though I can live with a slightly smaller scale.
I do have a question though....is there anything to the base design itself or is it just plain? That's one thing I haven't seen in the pics.

Thank you for that info. I wasn't sure. The price is nice, but would have preferrred larger figures. Thinking down the road, I would want my Captain America to be much larger. Guess this will not happen, though.
The base was black and designed, I suppose, to give the idea of a two-tiered (sp) wedding cake. It was smooth and not 'decorated.'
Not a bad design. Very basic. But the figures are so small, it overwhelms. Whollllllllle lotta base to this.

I've been toying with the idea of just making my own base for this one. Seems like it should be pretty easy to make a heart, paint 'er up like Spidey's mask, and maybe even do the bite out of one corner. Then you have something both fancier than just a black base and another nice little nod to the cover.
I hadn't really given any thought to further statues in the series. If the sculpts continue to be good I'd probably be ok with these keeping the same scale for around $50-60 each. After all, I love Super Heroes and I love zombies, but I wouldn't necessarily want them dominating my collection or another expensive line to keep up with.

The base was so plain, maybe it was a temp. I don't know.
I don't need these to be huge honkers, but they just look like action figures that you can't play with.
They were in scale with those Buffy statues. Which I thought had little detail, and were just too tiny.
A sculptor can do a lot with the zombie line. But re-producing that in this scale is very tough.

You saw the upcoming Buffy statues, Moto? I really like the pics I've seen of the Buffy and Angel ones. You saw them in person?

Actually, I'll take that back.... maybe.
I think there were some Buffy items in the DST booth. I didn't pay attention to them. But I 'think' they were there.
I was slobbering over the TOMB OF DRACULA statue.
And really liked the Star Trek pieces, although I won't be getting them.
They had a ton of Marvel Icons busts there. Really not impressed with the sculpts or size. Actually, don't know why anybody would buy these because Bowen is the best, and these look like something that would have come out back in the late 80s/early 90s.
However, the Elektra one was the best, I thought. Interesting pose.
Didn't take my camera for some reason.

Thanks for the info, Mr. Moto. I'm just eager for those new Buffy statues. I have two Buffy busts and would like to increase my collection, as long as they look cool.
