Yeah, they just shouldn’t have announced it so prematurely with nothing to show. There've been a lot of statues since that announcement that have been fully shown or even shipped.
That’s why I don’t like product announcements. Announce with a teaser or the full thing. Sideshow used to do that a lot, too, but they’ve gotten a lot better. Mostly because they don’t communicate upcoming products nearly as much anymore.
The worst is when these companies hype you with a name and when you finally see the statue much later, you don’t like it. Although they showed silhouettes it seems that’s the case for a lot of XM’s DC statues (Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman, etc). For me an example is Sideshow’s Doctor Doom maquette, I was looking forward to it but didn’t like it once it was finally revealed.
