My LCS owner to me back in 1984 when I was mulling over spending $4 to buy three more issues of New Teen Titans #1 (DM series):

"Only buy what you like. Don't buy this stuff for an investment."

I kind of resented him dashing my dreams of future riches like that, but I always remembered it and eventually came to respect him even more for bothering to impress that point.
It would have been so much easier to just grab the $4 and say "good luck!".

That's all good to say but as we get older your taste change or you see something you want more..High ES blows big time..Look at some of the lower ES like XM they hold their value,XM can keep their statues cost down without making High ES like sideshow.Sometimes its not the ES as it can be just outdated or there are better ones made of that statue too.
Your right, just keep it or sell it for a big lost..The days of just buying for fun are long over.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Cool

Again I say don’t look at it as an investment, and you’ll be fine.

If you enjoyed a statue for years and then sell it for less than what you paid, is it really a big loss? Whatever the shortfall is, try to look at it that you got your money's worth out of it, so to speak.

None of my sideshow pieces are retail anymore except diorama hulk Vs Spiderman . I don’t hate SS but their model is to make money I understand that’s the nature of this business

XM here to fight for social injustice, world peace, and end world hunger.

Yeah there are still SS pieces that have increased in value. Just naming a few from the top of my head.

1. Venom PF
2. Jane Foster Thor
3. Captain Marvel PF
4. X-23 PF
5. Rogue Maquette
6. Psylocke PF (both the X-Force and original)

These are just the recent ones. But you get my point. Yes, they no longer increase in value like they used to but I don't see XM being much different. Same goes for Prime 1.

XM fanboys need to wake up and get a sniff of reality. This picture that you guys are trying to paint just aint reality. All statues companies are in the same situation. A minority of releases increase in value while the majority take a dip as soon as they are released.
