It seemed to be too small Ehren and did not look mean enough to me if that makes any sense.

For me it's easy. Take a look at Chris Gabrish's Death Dealer, then look at the Bowen helmet...Night and day difference. The horns are shorter but it works. I know the Frazettas want the sculpts to be exact images of the original art, but with a little patience the longer horns can be turned right and work. Check out the rivet detail on Chris's stuff

Liked Bowens version and thought it was cool...just didnt have the likeness to the painting that I thought it should have had.

Should have looked more like this.

Nothing about this 1/8 piece bothered me...although at a 1/4 the details should be better...

If I had any criticism or critique of the Bowen version it would be that the under helmet (chin area) which is hidden in shadow in the painting looks like some sort of motocross helmet or something in that area and I've never liked it. I don't have a superior idea but don't really like that.

I thought Bowen did an outstanding job of representing the painting on all parts visible in the painting and liked the horns as he did them.

Think of also how old this Bowen piece is...It is 20 freakin years old!...what pieces were done out there back then so detailed compared to what we see now...Few and far between...I love this piece for what it represents...It will be tiny in comparision to what the new 1/4 piece will be, and the finer details will be easier to establish on the 1/4 piece compared to the older 1/8 piece...I never expected flawless when I got this...and I still dont...I was just happy to actually own a 3d version of DD...and of course the Moore Barbarian...It is true that I wanted to repaint them for years and just very recently did that...But I will not hold any critiques against these masterpieces...just for what they were...For many of us they were dream pieces come true...as I'm sure these newer 1/4 ones will be too...I just hope and pray I can afford em

Just wondering how you are going to do the chain placement...

Here was a couple of ideas that I implemented on my Moores Barbarian statue's... Frazetta/Moore originally had the chain from the back belt area to the ground for the nude A/P or the sword scabbard to the ground for the bronze... not even a complaint but both made no sense to me.

On one of my Moores Barbarian statue I put a chain and mace in his hand, I always felt that the chain led straight to his hand and was just buried in the shadow of his legs, there was also some kind of round object in the muck next to his right boot, I just portrayed that object as a spiked mace connected to the chain we see in the painting.

On the AP nude I connected the chain from Conans hand to the slave girls wrist.
