I like GG but black based are ordinary.. (most of them)
Personally, I like the black bases. Gives the statues a classy look that doesn't detract from the sculpt.

I have the Boba Fett by Koto and all of their clone and storm troopers. They are nice, but the Koto line just falls apart when it comes to human likenesses--so forget about being a completist.

As for GG, I have all the statues and dioramas that they have produced to date, and without the slightest hesitation, I would say that if I had to choose between one company or the other--it would be Gentle Giant. No contest. Great stuff.

I totally agree with tomandshell, the human likeness of Koto is very poor compared to Gentle Giant's stuff.

The new Luke Bespin is very poor.

I've got a few Koto, my favourites have got to be Biker Scout, Sandtrooper's (Black & White Paltrons) and the Snowtrooper. and i'm keeping my fingers crossed that Koto will make a Grievous in the not to distant future.

Also a massive fan of GG's stuff aswell, and looking at the quality of busts and statue's that will be released between now and the end of the year, i can see them overtaking Attakus in my opinion.

GG statues have more detail than Koto ones, but Koto ones often (but not always) have better poses.

You do have a point there. Their pieces aren't bad at all, and you can't go wrong for the money! That bat man one totally kiks a$$

I like both, but if I had to choose 1 it would be GG. I own and/or have pre ordered all of the GG statues. As for Koto, I mostly get just the troopers, which is great because GG hasn't made any of them.

I'd like to see Koto take on Crimson Guard, Royal Guard, Tie Pilot, Rebel Pilot, and Emperor as well as a few others we might not see from GG for a loooooooong time. I think Koto can surprise, and they are at least good placeholders.

I think the Kotos are just as good if not better Gentle Giant and they're less money. Also, because they're vinyl they're easier to clean and less chance of breaking.
