I can't say I wouldn't like to see Katheryn Winnick but I didn't hate Brie Larson. The movie itself was just OK for me but I do think Brie is pretty hot and I liked her more than I thought I would.

Personally, I would rather Captain Marvel went back to the Dave Cockrum designed outfit myself. Her current outfit has grown on me. I kind of wish they would change up some of the colors. They could be kept red and blue but just different shades

After the Black Widow is released, i am sure Scarlett Johansson will be done with the role. Why not let Scarlett Johansson play the part of Captain Marvel, as she looks the part, and can act the part. Her name is far bigger than Larson.

I'd be shocked to see the same actor play two major roles within the MCU.

Disney have paid Larson for 5 movies (she has done 2 thus far) and despite mixed reception the original Captain Marvel did gangbusters at the box office (far more than any Thor movie for example).
I'm not sure why they would switch to a far more expensive lead actress and create confusion for general audiences.

5 movies. I cannot imagine there being a 3rd Captain Marvel. I can only imagine there are plans for her to play bit parts in other movies.

Why?

If the second one makes a billion as well they'd be crazy to not want a third. Precedent is there with Iron Man 3, Captain America 3, and Thor 3, and Spider-Man 3 and Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is happening eventually. I'm pretty sure they are even making Ant-Man and Wasp 3 (I like those movies, but they were not box office smash hits).
Of course, the whole schedule is wonky with the pandemic pushing everything back a year.

While I didn't think the first one was great I thought it was decent and it was good enough to do a second so I don't know why they wouldn't at least be planing for a 3rd.

I think the plan was to make her the face of the MCU now that Iron Man and Cap are gone.
