Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

AMAZING!

I’m always skeptical of sequels to movies I love and that I feel need no follow up. But this movie ranks up there to me as one of the best Spider-Man movies to date. The trailers pretty much spelled out the major conflict with Miles but there’s a ton of great things for comic readers or Spidey fans of any type.

I hesitate to give a rating based on 1 viewing so I’ll say for me this is between 8-10 out of 10. We already know this movie is a 2 parter, and I feel this is what Empire Strikes Back is to A New Hope in terms of tone.

Sound issues though. I watched in a Dolby theater and although I could hear 98% of the dialogue, it’s definitely the lowest sound I’ve heard. While watching I thought there was an issue with the theater. After taking a look on Twitter (yes, Twitter! Lol) I see it’s a wide spread issue.

I’ve seen others say some parts they couldn’t hear at all. I’m assuming they watched in regular theaters. I always watch Marvel movies in a “premium” theater and this was one time I’m really glad I did otherwise I probably would’ve experienced more of the volume issues this seems to be having. Such a shame, too, because it’s an awesome movie. Sony needs to fix the issue asap.

I just noticed that a thread about arguably the best animated movie this year received no replies. Is it because we all know it's fantastic and there's nothing left to say?

I've read that the release date for the next film, Beyond the Spider-Verse has been postponed due to the Hollywood strikes which is unfortunate.

When I watched this movie in the theater I had a difficult time hearing the audio so I could not completely understand what was going on. My enjoyment of this movie was low.

Now, that I've watched it again at home with no audio issues, what a great movie! 9 out 10!
