Prime 1 NLE Showcase getting reworked

From what BSC said in his new video that P1 is doing some rework to this Showcase. P1 isn't happy with sales

some new info
US Statue collecting has tanked
Asia now big into statue collecting
Fewer 1/3s
More 1/4s
Fewer Comic Book statues
NO B.C D characters
More Anime that's THE BIG THING NOW.

Wonder what this means. Usually May or June is when their spring break showcase hits, so hopefully we won't have to wait much longer.

I mean, what do they think they can do that a showcase is gonna somehow fix? They always either release a bunch of various Batman pieces, wildly randomize edition sizes so customers can't complete collections (Berserk), or they announce/preview statues with high prices and then don't actually put them up for pre-order (Nier 1/3) =/

Showcase 3 is suppose to have the new Persona statues (According to the Facebook Q&A) and speculation is the third showcase is meant to happen around sdcc. Hopefully this change doesn’t delay it too badly. The best thing they probably could do is stop dragging each announcement for so long (showing the statue, going on about it’s virtue for 5-6 minutes with white noise words, then some exclamation about how amazing that announcement just was). Streamers do a better job at actual cons showing these statues then the actual showcase.

Probably means they are reevaluating what to show. Cancelling some announced pieces or putting on the back burner and maybe evaluating different new ones.

Overall I'd wager scaling down.

The BSC said exactly the same. I've also heard, there's a possibility they might move from 1/3 to 1/4.

I feel like there are a lot of reasons why this is happening. Their prices are getting insane, they keep putting up for preorder more of the same characters even before the previous one ships out, a lot of their bonus editions really aren't anything special so people can wait for the aftermarket, and in recent years quite a few competitors have emerged that fulfill a similar niche. Prime 1 was there when anime and video game stuff wasn't getting as much high end collectibles, but now we have folks like Figurama and Infinity and many many more providing sculpts that are often better and going for IPs even more unique

Do you mean cut out 1/3 altogether for 1/4? I know they are doing 1/4 but I thought it was along with their 1/3 line?

Finally some sense. Hope this is true, I just don't want paint apps to suffer.

I'd have been willing to pay $2000 instead of $1500 for their 1/4 Big Game Predator if the paint quality matched the 1/3.
