Just received and opened my Sideshow delivered Gantaku Ukyo limited edition and the roof and roof posts do not line up. Not even close. Also where the peg inserts into the roof underside it looks like the wood has snapped off. I can hear it shaking inside the roof. Packaged really nicely in a very tight foam box but sadly QC is lacking with the roof defect. This one is going back or a full refund.

After a couple of hits in a row (Batgirl, Danger Girl) I got one of the worst products I’ve ever received from SS today. The JSC Tinkerbell which was supposed to be a gift for my wife. First, the box had clearly been re-taped, return anyone? Even my wife commented on that. I thought maybe we would get one of those QC letters, nope. BTW I have DST Gallery pieces that weigh more than this. Open it up and one wing is broken off lying there, there a weird rub mark in the compass base, paint issues, and whatever cheap plastic attachment they are using is also chipped. It barely holds it in place, any whiff of air would topple it. Yes I put it at an angle, you can see there is a chip off that plug, I’m assuming where the pin is supposed to make contact which is just gone, wasn’t in the box. I went from thinking I’d glue the wing to wanting a replacement to just asking for a refund.

Holiday Shop

I spotted this option today.
My complaint: 95% of the stuff on offer is either a book or a PCS piece?

Something that fails to make sense: PCS - Reptile, which is Waitlisted, has had it's price slashed.
Why drop the price of something that is Waitlisted?
..obviously it was popular enough in the first place to sell out.
The same applies to 5 other Waitlisted items.

SIDESHOW LIFESIZE TERMINATOR ENDOSKELETON V2

So, I saved up to get my dream piece a lifesize Terminator from Sideshow. Not a cheap piece by any standards. Arrived in the UK and put up on display about a year ago.

Had some cracking issues appear on this piece and gradually got worse. Sideshow contacted.

Sideshow response. Its acceptable to have wear and tear after a year on display and this may have been caused by me unpacking it and assembling it incorrectly. Hmm let me see now. Anyone i think could see that there is a production problem with this and its a chrome plating quality control problem.

I am not alone. I know of someone else in the UK who has one the same problem and not even 6 months old.

Sideshow cant even admit that there is a problem and sort this for me. So i have a lifesize endo now worth diddly squat no doubt. Thanks Sideshow. I hope this serves as a warning about this company. The customer service is shocking. Anyone outside the US, do they even care.

I assume you sent good hres pictures,
but you have to mention that those are not scratches (all over) but small fractures. My first thought seeing this; must be result of extra shrinkage of the resin/polystone after the chrome process due to temperature differences. Probably the wrong type of resin has been used or wrong temperature before going to next step.
In any case a problem during production.

This should be top of the line from SS.
I would go through the floor.
One crack in 400usd statue and response like that, would be crazy already.

yes mate any logical person can see this is a production problem but sideshow bless them saying it is due to me assembling it poorly or due to age after one year is their excuse. shocking! they cant even say its due recall and replacement and i dont know what i can do. its not like i have a lifetime warranty and not like this happened on delivery so i have no chance other than sideshow good will to sort this for me and u really believe they will do that being in the UK I have no recourse. I just hope a sideshow rep reads this and does the honourable thing but i doubt it. CINEMAQUETTE terminator better be way better than this and this one is only fit for selling off cheap now or putting up with it. What the heck it was only £6000 down the drain for an item which lasted less than a year. Nice one sideshow

Wayne,
I did a quick look at website and could not find the text about 'real product warranty' (like 1 or 2-years).

This is not it; [Direct customers are covered by a 30 Day Exchange/Return window. This warranty starts the moment your purchase arrives on your doorstep. Items outside of this window are ineligible for a return, refund, or credit.]
This is short term warranty for defects already visible, so the customer can/must inspect the goods received. Easier exchange policy without shipping cost or even ask for refund if product is not to your liking etc.

But I assume Sideshow also has to comply with 'product warranty' like;
A common form of warranty that the product is free from material defects in materials and workmanship. This simply promises that the manufacturer properly constructed the product, out of proper materials. This implies that the product is not defective for the purposes for which it was made. In Europe this is at least one year (some product types even longer).

You should ask Sideshow what their maximum warranty is regarding hidden defects.
Just ask, don't be put off. This is too much money to throw away. Goodluck.

> Someone else, who knows minimum product warranty (USA legislation). Or dealt with hidden defects after a few months?

Hi Wayne, I've done some Google searches and this may help:

https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0252-warranties

If you scroll down below, there is a section called 'implied warranty' that may be of assistance when dealing with Sideshow. It looks like this law covers most states in the US

Also check out the below link:
https://thelemonfirm.com/lemon-law/c...ng-beverly-act

Or Google California song beverly act (that's if Sideshow headquarters is located in California which a Google search appears to support that).

The act says:

The Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act (CA Civil Code § 1790-1795.8) covers all consumer retail goods sold in California that are under an implied or express warranty, which includes automobiles. The law specifies that all consumer goods are covered under an implied warranty of merchantability as well as an implied warranty of fitness. This means that the goods (1) will perform as promised by the retailer or manufacturer; (2) are suitable for their intended purpose; and (3) are of the same quality as similar such

So I think when you draft a response to Sideshow, it'll be very important to highlight the act. In addition I would take plenty of pictures and possibly a video of the entire statue and all its parts showing the defective consistency as this would be concrete proof that it is not a assembly/shipping problem, but a systemic problem from their materials production lines. If you can get a statement written by a chrome specialist that would be of good benefit and something they cannot simply ignore. Given the cost of the item, it would be comparable to automobiles, so I believe it would be hard for them to just dust their hands off. A drafted legal letter (or write one yourself) which will cost a fraction of your statue cost would be enough warrant for them to not want to head down the legal avenue but at least force some collaborative mediation. Bottom line you have proof and you know your rights and state you will consider legal action if not appropriately remedied asap. I would also give them no longer than 10 business days to provide their response to you. The absolute least they can do is to ask for one part to be sent back for analysis as they have a duty of care to seriously investigate any consumer inquiry. I would also attention this to the very top, don't bother with entry level jocks, escalate it from the top.

Good luck and hope it goes well mate.
