finally comic books!!!!

When you go around the corner my comic book collection finally shows up. There are 16 cubes of long boxes with hip hop variant covers to hide the hideous white boxes. On top of that is another 16 cubes of statues with a row of statues on top.

When you turn around you see some of my art print collection posted on the angled ceiling. Most of the art prints are signed by the artist from comic book conventions and I have one Thanos commission up. Below the prints are some more larger statues that are to big for cubes (cubes are 13"x13"). This side of the room has another 16 cubes available for more long boxes.

The room is completed by the wine fridge (don't drink wine so I keep other beverages in it). The wine fridge is also used to display Funko Pops and other things I like but don't want to put in a cube. Then there is the Alabama Crimson Tide corner and all purpose storage area. Also have a couch for reading comics and another setup for the TV and couches for watching football, Netflix and the never ending list of shows on my DVR. Got a couple of smaller Thanos figures hidden in the sitting area and will eventfully place a shelf above the couch on the right side for displaying all the different color lanterns of the light spectrum from the green lantern stories.

lights, lights and more lights

I really like the white puck lights because as I move stuff around I can rearrange them to change the lighting effect on the statues. I also like that I can control them with 1 remote control and the fact that I can change the colors and do all kinds of coloring effects. The down side for the lights is that they use 3 AAA batteries so I am always buying more batteries if I forget to turn them off while I'm watching TV.

I mainly just wanted to share my geek cave setup and not really focus on detail photos of the statues since you can find more detailed photos of everything I have in other posts on the forum. Believe it or not I was able to build the setup on a reasonable budget since the cubes cost about $70 for a set of eight at Wal-Mart and the lights come in a pack of 5 for about $20 at Sam's. That is compared to a cost of about $5,000 - $8,000 when I was looking to have something custom built. I'm on the fence about adding another set of cubes at the top of the steps and the statues change every month since I'm constantly on eBay buying and selling.

Hope this gives you some ideas to work with because I have definitely picked up some ideas looking at other people setup.

How are the lights attached? They seem to be what I need, maybe a tad too big, but I guess there's no smaller option for wireless ones.
