Got mine today. I have to be honest I am pretty happy with the paint job. I am going to go over it in more detail tomorrow with more natural light in my office. I did get a scratch on my base so I have to contact SS and decide how to handle this. That is frustrating me. Also, I am posting pics of the head. I would like anyone who has one to tell me if this is battle damage on the chin or if I just got a crappy mold on the head. Any help here would be appreciated. I'm hoping for the former. Tomorrow when I am not so tired I will post more detailed pics of the entire statue if anyone is interested. This thing is massive btw.

Ive got a little something going on on the chin but I dont think its as bad as yours. Could be a weak part of the mold or some such. I cant see it at all from the front

btw is your sword handle straight. Mines a bit crooked. Cant really tell when he's holding it but i dunno, would it be better to get it replaced?

Ugh yes mine has a little lean to it too. I didn't notice it until you pointed it out. Must be the mold I bet. Your chin def looks better than mine. I'm assuming it's a weak point like you said. It looks like battle damage and maybe that was the point but mine is a bit more exaggerated than yours. Not loving that. I think I have to accept the fact that they were going after a battle damaged Voltron. The thing that concerns me the most is the scratch on my base. I have to decide if I want to accept the discount or have them send me a new one. Thoughts? Part of me doesn't want to accept any issues for this price point.

i hate it when the issue is so small you dont want to bother but then it nags at you. If they offer a new one probably go with that. Its small and you could try to fix it yourself but why for $1200 right?

I hope you guys get the exchanges, SS is giving me a hard time on mine. This is what I received, plus what I feel is worse paint app than most I have seen.

What are these scratch marks supposed to be? Battle damage? Did the lions fight each other?

Ugh. Sorry to see how badly this is turning out.
Sure am glad I chose to use all my points for a free ex thanos instead.

The worst battle damage areas are the feet and chest. Its like they turned a five year old loose with a marker and crayons- on a $1200 statue! Doesnt SS give any kind of painting instructions to these factories? There was no need for it to be that bad (maybelline applied to the yellow and blue lions, absolutely no thought going into the uniform same size marks on the chest)- its like they didnt even care. They need to change their disclaimer from "may" to "will" differ in appearance. When they're mirror chroming the metal on their prototype and then delivering him with gray paint it just shows that they had no intention of ever getting him to that level.

As aggravating as the battle damage is to me, its the only thing really wrong with Voltron and its only most noticeable on the closups. There is a lot left over to be impressed with and Voltron wont be coming along again for a long time probably- if ever. The sculpt is the big highlight and a repaint will turn this into a grail. Overall Im happy with it, just frustrated and tired of the same old game. I wasnt expecting the $400 treatment on a $1200 piece. For me this makes 6 out of 8 Sideshow pieces with issues.

Sad to hear people are unhappy with this. Love Voltron but the price was just too high.
