Sounds like the deal Alex Kurtzman signed means will probably see even another Star Trek series not to far down the road.....

I'm guessing Discovery brought in a lot of subscriptions and CBS wants to build on that by making more Star Trek content...

They need to stop making pre-TNG stories. It's goofy to have "older" generations with better technologies. This same disconnect impacted Star Wars as well when the prequels showcased better tech than the original trilogy despite being set in an earlier time period.

Finally a post TNG show where you can use anyone from TNG, DS9, and Voyager. Been wanting this show for 10 years now, they finally get it. Figured they would do a version with their kids and have cameos by TNG actors. Can’t wait.

I would love to see a post TNG/DS9/Voyager series with all new characters....

Something new would be kind of cool like each week the story would be about different characters in different circumstances, one week about the crew of a starship the next week about some federation marines on some weird planet, maybe stories about people on Romulus or other species we haven't seen much about in all the TV/Movies we've seen ... Kind of like Outer Limits but within the Star Trek Universe
