Jam layout

With the midwest con season kicking off next month I am looking to get a few commissions lined up. I have been wanting to get a jam piece for awhile. Any suggestions on an artist to do the layout? I know at most cons the artists will work on an existing layout but dont really want to start a new one. Any advice would be appreciated.

There's a few options you can take:

- find a prelim piece and use it as your base
- find an artist (up and coming or established) to create a layout
- find someone that does recreations if you want to go that route and have them do an outline

Ebay or deviant art have good artists for these. If you want a recreation I can send you a name via pm.

Frank Miller or Todd McFarlane would be my choices for the layouts.

Really? I think their best work is behind them. I'd go with someone in their prime like Frank Cho or J Scott Campbell. Maybe even Adam Hughes or Jim Lee who is still at the top of his game.

How about Capullo? His work on Batman has been fantastic. That's who I'd go with to do the layout.

I agree. Was just trying to keep the costs down with my suggestions.

I agree. Capullo would do a phenomenal layout.

Because it's late and my funny bone is kinda dulled at the moment, I'll give a few serious ideas.

Darryl Banks (very talented artist who doesn't charge an arm and leg for his work)

David Rivera (I got him to do the layout for my Cap jam and while I made some changes after the fact, that was because I changed my mind, not because of any issues with the layout)

Sunny Lee (another very talented artist who won't break your wallet. He made the additional changes to my jam and did a fantastic job of it)
