The June 2016 episode is up!:

http://felixcomicart.libsyn.com/

It's a special double-sized two-hour edition from Emerald City Comicon! The first hour features my conversation with longtime collector Andy Robbins. I've really enjoyed talking to Andy over the years about strategies and philosophies in building a comic art collection. This may be the most valuable episode yet for serious collectors. Learn the Andy Robbins Method!

Our second hour features a roundtable discussion with Andy and two returning guests from past episodes, John Butler and Lambert Sheng. Can't get enough talk about comic art? This will test your limits!

Unfortunately, our streak of "show-and-tell" videos ends this month We just ran out of time. But Andy's got some really special pieces to share, so we will definitely get to him down the line. In the meantime, we do have a new video this month. It features Daniel Warren Johnson's STAR WARS fan comic, GREEN LEADER:

Enjoy!

The July episode is up!:

http://felixcomicart.libsyn.com/

Our last episode has been one of our most popular yet, so here's another 2+ hour edition! In the first half, I talk to former CFA-APA editor (and 40+ year collector!) Benno Rothschild. Benno wanted to talk about "collecting on a budget", so that's the unofficial theme of this episode.

Still, no show would be complete without some mention of Frank Miller's THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS (sorry!). Benno was at SDCC 1987 when books 1 and 4 were broken up (under perhaps questionable circumstances). Check out this amazing pic of the seller with all that Miller art:

And check out Benno's show-and-tell video on our YouTube channel:

The second half features a roundtable discussion with artist Nick Pitarra and collectors Shannon Slayton and Jimmy Lawrence. All about commissions! We've all had a lot of experience with them, and talk about the good, the bad, and the ugly. So commission collectors...this one's for you.

Enjoy!

New episode for August is up!:

http://felixcomicart.libsyn.com/

Guest this month is collector/investor Gene Park! Warning: This episode is heavy on money talk. For those who don't like to hear about that side of the hobby (and I don't blame you if you don't), just skip this one. I have an episode lined up for next month that will (hopefully!) resume the focus back on the art. Everyone else, enjoy, and please leave a rating and review on iTunes. Thanks!

This month, I stay local and talk to fellow Bay Area resident, Erik Larsen. Erik is, of course, best known as the artist/creator of the long-running series SAVAGE DRAGON, as well as being one of the founding members of Image Comics. But he's also a dedicated original comic art collector. Hear his thoughts on collecting for nostalgia vs. aesthetics, the art of Todd McFarlane and Rob Liefeld, how he acquired his Holy Grail, and much more!

Joining me as co-host for the second half is fellow Kirby obsessive (and mutual friend), Glen Gold.

And our show-and-tell video returns this month on YouTube! Check out Erik's entry and subscribe to our channel for more original comic art videos!

This month, we visit Brooklyn, New York to see one of our favorite artists, Paul Pope! Even better, Paul has now joined Felix Comic Art and we will soon have his original art for sale. Commissions, too! Sign up for the mailing list at www.felixcomicart.com. I'll keep everyone informed as new details are available.

Paul knows comics and talks about his original art collection. Find out who are his favorites, and why. Great stuff here, and I look forward to our next chat.

We follow up Paul with our NYCC roundtable, featuring New York City's most esteemed collectors including returning guest Gene Park, and newcomers to the podcast, Dan Pottick and Rotem Bar-Kokhva. Like me, these guys are nuts about the hobby and I think that comes through during our discussion. We talk about vintage art vs. new art, the shifting demographics of the hobby, and oh yeah, The Cabal and DARK KNIGHT RETURNS!
