They must not order much quantity from weta, they usually do sell out quick.

It's refreshing not to have to wait a year for a pre order. Cinemaquette also puts their pieces in factory production long before the pre order goes up. Good business if you ask me. Well done Weta! Keeping collectibles collectible by committing to an edition size without letting pre orders dictate.
That other company should do the same....oh wait, they may get stuck with 5000 pieces.

It’s a positive and a negative for me. On the one hand I like the smaller gap between pre-order and release but when a company releases a ton of product I want in a small window like Weta has done since SDCC it makes it extremely difficult to grab everything I’d like.

Great! That hopefully means BBTS isn't too far behind in getting this out....

Mine arrives this week. Hopefully, it'll arrive in better condition than the one I saw photo's posted of yesterday on the Weta forum. The tips of both ears were broken off at the factory and were hastily glued back on. Not only was touch up paint not applied, the ears weren't even aligned properly when glued back on. What a mess.

I have had to return or have repaired, 6 of my last 10 Weta statues. In 4 of those instances the flaws were so bad I'm still shocked at the idea they got shipped in the first place. With the prices Weta is asking these days for their 1/6 scale statues, I don't think they can afford to allow their QC to slip the way it has in the past year. There is just too much competition for our collectible dollars these days.
