Isn't that what happened with the Black Bats bust? It was never sold out at their site, but suddenly they took him off and a few days later they announced the Blue Variant???
So what happened witht he remaining pieces of the Black bats?

So apparently I've been confused about this piece all along, and the statue I reserved on layaway at my comic shop was just the reg. I thought the sideways-looking head was the EX piece and the batarang hand was included with all of them. I wish I had discovered I had it backwards before deciding to go there today and just finish paying for it in one fell swoop. I'm still very impressed with the piece, and I'm glad I didn't have to deal with the shipping cost, but I might have held off for a bit had I known it wasn't an EX. Oh well.

Yep, no way SSC would ever do a colour variant of a sculpt by just changing the chest logo, and painting the cape and portraits different colors... Nope NEVER

If Poison Ivy got a repaint...why wouldn't Batman get a repaint?
You can do a blue version in Jim lee style with the classic Batman chest symbol and another blue variant with the Neal Adams yellow chest logo. They can ommit the Martin Canale head as it doesn't fit the blue version as much as the Andy B. sculpt does. They can also leave out the batarang.
They obviously spent a lot of time on this piece to not milk it for all it's worth.
