These were taken at work . The first one is a picture taken by a 12 year old kid using his special glasses and placing it over the iPhone lens.

The others were taken by me using my iPhone. Not the greatest but still cool to see.

This was in NY.

Traveled to Idaho to experience totality, I did not take photos as I wanted to be in the moment, I did remove my solar filters from my binoculars the second I saw the last of the sun's disk disappear for about twenty seconds to see deeply the details of the now visable corona and was not disappointed, only in the great brevity of the event. It so changes the environment around you and the vision of the "black sun" in the sky that I got a feeling of being on an alien world almost.

That's great, that you were able to experience this in its totality. I wish I could have

Yes looking thru a lens only, it did seem to be of alien.

Glad you were able to witness this great event CessnaDriver!

Here are more pictures, but not by me, but by our IT guy that I just got today via email...

I was in totality in Missouri. It was eerie and awesome all at the same time!

This was a fantastic little event. The fam and i traveled down to Kentucky to witness the totality. Really a great event. Being able to see the "diamond ring" was an awesome sight. Totally worth the drive.

Definitely strange being dark in the afternoon like that.

There is another total across Mexico and America in seven years so another chance and totality lasts twice as long as this one.

Saw the tail end of this in Seattle. Wish I could have been down in Oregon to witness totality.

And no one was able to take a snip of the total action?
oh well.

If I was in any of those locations, I think I would have had like 30 pictures or more of it

Actually it's not recommended to do that, best to enjoy it as an experience unless you've done many. It such a short incredible moment in time you really want to let it wash over you than fussing with a camera. There will be tons of great pics from professionals and the astronomy community out there by now, most people will not produce a great picture anyways.
