You don't need a stepdown for statue plugs, just a 2 pin to 3 pin converter you can pick them up for in most places for a £1.

They are just 12v not 120v.

US standard voltage is 120V
UK standard voltage is 240V

The converter drops the voltage from 240V to 120V and allows for US style plug design to be plugged into it. The idea being, any US electrical appliance can be used in the UK, which is popular with devices such as Blu-ray players. The statue light up option should have worked fine.

Yeah I know all this lol statues don't run on 120v they use 12v leds.....you just need a 2 pin to 3 pin converter...

That's why yours isn't lighting up....and why all my sideshow star wars pieces and my 1:3 MK pieces do lol.

Look at it this way: a US collector plugs in their 1:3 MK Mileena into a wall socket - the piece lights up.
They have supplied the appliance with 120v

Between the 120v and the LED lights there should be an 'LED driver' *a small box that contains all that is necessary to drop the voltage from 120v* probably to 12v

I know this, as i recently picked up some LED lights, and they shipped with LED drivers. The drivers were designed to be used in the UK (240v). If the same LED lights were to be used in Europe, then would require different drivers.

I think you are getting confused. The LEDs run on DC, supplied by the AC adapter already included with the statue which does not care if you use it with 120v or 240v AC. You actually just need a plug adapter as DeadGhostKnight said.

hmm..

I have the Mileena adapter in front of me. It states input 100v - 240v
The question is, why won't the 240v - 120v plug adapter work?
My adapter is in effect and plug adapter - it also lowers the out put voltage to US standard 120v ..if it can power a US Blu-ray player then why won't it work on some LED's ?

I guess i could try a plug adapter. I'm not quite working out why the 240v - 120v adapter fails to work.

Like I said before, it might be another issue, so you need to eliminate some variables. If that adapter is working ok for other stuff it's probably not the root cause. It would be helpful If you had a meter to test its output as well as the PCS supplied adapter so you could figure out if it's in the base or not.

test it with the 99 cent adapter... you dont need a converter!

I've ordered an adapter, if only to satisfy my curiosity, to see if the 240v - 120v adapter is faulty. If the lights fail to light up, then it has to be the LED driver, which i'm assuming is inside the black plug, not the base. If that's the case, then maybe PCS have some spares?

£8 (about $10.00)

I am telling you with 100% certainty and have many many statues that light up that you only need a 2 pin to 3 pin adaptor....just pick one up from a store for a quid...you don't need to spend anymore....lol.
