Me too!

It's so odd that I didn't read it in school. But then again we were given books to choose from and I guess it just never came around again for me.

Seems stupid I had to read Animal Farm three times and A Seperate Peace twice, but never Gatsby.

Cross country skiing is great if you live in a small country.

I had to choose 1984 or Animal Farm. 1984, no hesitation. Never did read Animal Farm.

I've read all of those three, but not in a long time. If I were to rank them I would go

1984
Great Gatsby
Animal Farm

Also read Rise and Fall of the Third Reich mentioned earlier when I was in college but good lord is that long dry reading.

I have never been able to get through War and Peace

I'm a huge world war 2 history buff, so third reich was was like a turkey leg at a carnival.

I read war and peace about every decade or so. I normally enjoy it, but struggled this time. I'll try again later on.

In Cold Blood (1966), by Truman Capote. This is my bedtime reading. It's long overdue, as I've seen all the various movies based on it.

Also listening to a free Librivox audiobook of Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness (1899) on the train to and from work.

Yeah there were a few great moments that really hit home. To stay spoiler free I will just say when someone came back for someone else it hit me as hard as anything in the series.

I read "Heart of Darkness" years ago after I saw "Appocolypse Now" and just thought it was kind of overrated. I don't know I must have just expected it to be so much better. At least it is a fairly short book.
