Know nothing about the source material, but the Char and base is pretty cool.

Very nice. I haven't watched the movie in decades but had a nice collection of Heavy Metals in my drawer. I figured my mom might find it a little "iffy" lol. Some boys hid Penthouse... I had cartoon sci-fi fantasy porn! I regret nothing!

Female with a masculine edge, that applies to both Taarna and Wonder Woman. I guess that's Steve's style.

This statue is awesome. I just wished she carried a shotgun in the other hand or the severed head of that guy. Unfortunately, I have only one space left which I'm saving for a Supergirl remake. I guess I'll have to sell one of my statues to make room except I really don't want to either.

I really think this is over priced since it lacks detail compared to other PFs.

Not really, the base alone has some very nice detail work to it. And Taarna herself looks plenty detailed to me. How much more would you want?
Look at Harley Quinn whose base has no detail and that piece is $530.00. Black Cat is $500.00 and her base is nothing special. Even Batwoman at $500.00 and I don't see that as being very detailed.

Without knowing any real details, i get the impression this is the only way Sideshow can avoid prices rises to $700 - $800
$499 is alot to pay for a statue. Already many are $550+
$675 for Lady Deadpool, which is the most i've paid for a Sideshow 1/4 PF. This might have something to do with the excellent scooter base detail, swapout portrait. I really expect Sideshow to deliver on this piece. I like to think the portrait will match the high standards set by Gentle Giant back when they made really good 1/4 PF statues. They seem to have lost interest over the past year?

Heavy Metal magazine isn't doing much to promote the statue or new Taarna comic. How many statues are being made?
