I can add to the cash/electronic payment a little, not much, but some. Campbell's booth had electronic options (cellphone + the square). Finch took cash. When I was on Brooks pre-con sketch list I paid half prior (used Paypal) and he wanted cash for the remainder upon pick-up.

I wouldn't be surprised if Venmo came on strong with some artists. It's super handy and I have seen other types of vendors start using it. I LOVE it.
I have slowly carried less and less cash, just a bit for emergency these days. Venmo has made friendly outings so much easier to send exact amounts. I get nervous having more than $100 on me anymore.

I use cash at conventions. The only time I use Paypal for them is if I set up a commission ahead of time and prepay (either half or the whole amount depending on the artist). Eddy Barrows asked for full payment via Paypal before the convention. The rest I paid cash at their booths. I've never used Venmo, but I'm surprised more aren't going with that option as well.

Not from NYCC, but I got an Ursa commission from Peach Momoko!

Thanks! I love it! I'm hoping to get a couple more commissions in a couple weeks at Planet Comicon.

Not an NYCC commission, but I got Eddy Barrows to do a Zod commission to go with the Ursa one he did for me last year.
