Zachary Sam, 17, had arranged online to meet Philippe Pierre to buy a pair of $190 Air Jordan sneakers on a Brooklyn street, police said. But when he hopped into Pierre's SUV, he pulled out a gun and demanded the shoes for free, according to authorities.

Surveillance footage from the scene shows the teenager get out of the car, put something in his pocket, and walk away with a white plastic bag.

Pierre, 39, drives away slowly, but then makes a sharp U-turn and rams Sam, pinning him under the car and a fence. The teen hopped up and staggered away, his sleeve flapping. The arm and the gun were discovered at the scene, officials said.

Alex St. Fleur told the Daily News of New York that he was walking down the street when he saw the SUV jump the sidewalk and slam into the teenager. He and his son ran over and they saw the arm lying on the ground next to a shoebox.

"Everyone was yelling 'Come back! Your arm! You're going to bleed out!'" St. Fleur told the newspaper.

But Sam got onto a nearby bus, though the driver refused to move until he got off, and he ran to his home nearby. Sam remained hospitalized; his arm was severed below the elbow, according St. Fleur.

The teen was arrested on a charge of robbery and criminal possession of a weapon. Pierre was arrested on a charge of attempted murder.

Pierre's cousin told WABC-TV that the shaken man was just trying to help police catch an armed robber. He said the incident had destroyed two families.

Both men were in custody. It was not immediately clear whether they had attorneys who could comment on their arrests.

Two Florida hunters tracked down a monstrous alligator. The gator was shot at Outwest Farms in Okeechobee, measuring just under 15 feet and weighing in at over 800 pounds. The farm's owners discovered the gator in a cattle pond during a guided hunt. They believe the gator had been helping itself to some of their cows.

Jake Lloyd, who played Anakin Skywalker in 'Star Wars: The Phantom Menace,' has been moved from a jail cell to a psychiatric facility. Jake's been behind bars since June for taking cops on a chase that exceeded speeds of 100 mph. The actor's mom, Lisa, tells us authorities reached the conclusion he needed help more than punishment, because he suffers from schizophrenia ... thus the move. Lisa says she spoke with Jake last week and can already see an improvement in Jake's personality. We're told there's no timetable for his release. His family wants him to take his time to get healthy.

Poor guy, probably was devastated when TPM was panned by the Star Wars fan community.

An Oklahoma City high school teacher was arrested after an explicit video of her surfaced. Police started investigating on Monday when the principal at Douglass High School reported inappropriate messages between a teacher and a student. Sex crimes detectives with Oklahoma City said one of the text messages on a student`s phone contained a video, in which 51-year-old Victoria Dacalio was naked and masturbating.

Update: The victim received many high fives that day.

I can't even imagine the scrutiny and lambasting that this kid must have took while in school.

The boy's mother is partly to blame for this troubles and lack of proper treatment.

If you knew your kid was unstable, then why subject him to the exposure of Hollywood?

I hope he gets some help.
