Sinners - 7/10
High points for style. Beautiful film that borders closely to being a bit of a clone of From Dusk Til Dark, but then elevates itself above that film.

The Monkey (2025)
6.8/10
Not scary. The Monkey involves goofy 'inventive' horror with great special FX.
The picture looks great! It's entertaining. There is not much in the way of story.
I went into The Monkey knowing nothing, and expecting something deeper,
that was possibly scary. Instead, i experiened the opposite.
The Monkey 'toy' ( It's not a toy..) looks great! i love it's drumming action and the way it spins the right drumstick.
I wonder if The Monkey will make to store shelves anytime soon? (fully animatronic).

I loved seeing Action Comics #1, as well, in the first movie!

Mountainhead (HBO Max) - 8/10 An intimate drama about 4 wealthy tech titans from the creator of Succession. It is biting, funny, depressing, and thought provoking.

Ballerina (John Wick) - 8/10. Loved it. The action was insanely good, and luckily they didn't make her a Mary Sue Girlboss. Also, it's not a spoiler because he was in the trailer, but excellent little cameo from Keanu as well.
Dangerous Animals - 6/10. Above average movie about a serial killer in Australia whose modus operandi involves letting dangerous sharks do the actual killing. I wanted so badly to LOVE this movie because of the premise, but it was just OK for me. I wanted more thrills and more shark action.

The Rule of Jenny Pen (2024)
8/10
Pathological horror film that deals with elder abuse, aging and neglect with John Lithgow and Geoffery Rush giving it their all as usual. Rush is a judge that has a stroke and is sent to an elder care facility for rehabilitation and finds the residents on pins and needles and the staff oblivious to what's going on around them. Good movie, exhausting, very different type of horror movie. It's on IFC to rent.
