Well as per usual, come the all too required too busy, too messy critiques.

I know dioramas aren’t for everyone, but it really does seem sometimes that these type of pieces are nearly almost always too busy for the majority of collectors on this sub forum.

I like ambitious pieces but sometimes simple is better.

I like my Balrog vs Gandalf (P1), Dead Marshes (Weta) and Fell Beast (IS) dios.

But this Batman vs. Joker looks too busy to me.

I totally understand that.

I still remember the days, when any additional panel lines and the like were added to comic book based statues, (done by XM and the like when they first entered the market) they were also called way too busy, and not respecting the original sources. Now everyone, including sideshow are doing that, and it’s now mostly accepted by collectors.

Though obviously there are still the constant calls for true ‘classic based’ pieces to be done.

I also like those two pieces. Very good full environments that tell a story (pretty much straight from the films). But those definitely were criticised by many as being way too much, or too big, (at least the Prime 1 piece was, and I even thought they could’ve gone bigger) even at their smaller 1/20 scale.

I don't know what people expected. Did they want Batman and joker to fight in a void on nothingness? They are in a fight, crap is gonna fly everywhere! It makes sense to me.
But the height is what kills it for me sadly. Even if it does look cool.

Totally agree on all points.

Yup.

Though honestly I’ve been long out of display space, so I’ll probably end up getting their Fastball Special piece instead, as I love that they’re doing such an iconic move for the duo. Though I’m of two minds with regards to the smaller scale.

The more I see this, the more I like it. My first thought it's too busy, but at the same time it's very impressive. Need to see the full reveal and decide. The height is not an issue for me, if anything is a plus as I would not display it inside a cabinet.

So far Batman Vs. Joker diorama is either too small or too big. Prime1 version is 1/3, which I don't have a space for it.

1/4 is the ideal size for me, look forward to see more of this. My guess price will be $1000-1200, we'll see.
