Quick airbrush/shading question

I'm new to the whole airbrush scene and I was wondering if most of you master painters go from light to dark or dark to light. For example, do you base coat in the darkest shade and build up highlights or do you usually spray in the shading at the end. Any help is appreciated.

Oh and I was wondering what output pressure is usually preferred. I'm using the paint from KitBuilders.

Thanks!

Always work from light to dark.

Example: Skin tone

Base coat a light skin, then work in shadows. Only when you over spray and went to dark rework in highlights.

15 psi for detailing with nicely thinned paints. Higher pressure for bigger areas, base coats, clear cotes etc....

Hope that helps.

Thanks man I was hoping you would see this thread and help me out. Yea that's how I thought it worked but wasn't 100% sure. I recently picked up a Thayer and Chandler Omni 4000 and have been dying to try it out.
