All this beacuse items were left in water for 2 days that were not designed to be left in water for 2 days.

Yeah is sucks, but statues were not desinged to submerged underwater for long periods of time. And lets face it we are not talking tap water here.
But it would appear his particular SS statues were designed to be left in water for 2 days. The question is how did they hold up? What was done so they could withstand this abuse? I am curious so maybe we could forget about the ones that were damaged and focus on why some were not. I would find the answer useful and I'm sure other hobbyist would as well.

I just bought the SS Elektra comiquette for $227. My last BD was the Ketch GR that retails for $175. Only a $52 difference for a piece that is more more than 2x the size and is a female sculpt (which are generaly smaller in stature than male characters) to boot.

Your argument desn't stand up when actual numbers are put to it as opposed to funny pictures.

That's like Jenny McCarthy's autism argument... makes very little sense when you apply a small amount of thinking to it...

Exactly! Oddy - this is twice! I believe we are building a bridge!

n of 2 pieces is hardly a good sample size to conclude Bowen's quality is less superior comparing to SS. I would suggest more to be submerged. A real collector needs to know!!!!

the argument was that pf were worth the extra money over bowen's scale because they were much larger. my counterpoint was that with the bigger scale, came a much bigger price tag.

elektra is a 1/5 scale, even though product size is 14.5" tall compared to bowen's ketch gr which is 15" tall and is supposed to be around 1/6. $52 difference there but i don't know where you got elektra being twice as big?

the premium formats are where sideshow's prices go through the roof. do you think sideshow's man-thing and abomination are worth $500? sideshow's comiquettes range from $175-$275, but all their pf have jumped to a minimum of $325 and higher. not seeing the reason for the extra cost except ss greed.

in summary, yes bowen's prices have jumped but ss prices have jumped even more.

some have, however sideshow's prices have gone up $75-$100. except abomin and man-thing which have raised the bar even higher. ss bigger is better approach doesn't work with price tags of $500.
