The 13th Floor Elevators - Easter Everywhere (1967)

An influential but little-known band from Austin that was at the forefront of the psychedelic rock movement of the '60s. Sadly, their members' various drug-related problems led them to fall apart in 1969.

I highly recommend this band. It's interesting to think of what they might have accomplished had they been able to stay together.

Vinyl is great sound. I wish I had a record collection and a decent player but I just don't want to go back and try to grab all those records.

Ramones - Hey! Ho! Let's Go!: The Anthology (1999)

It's not easy to distill The Ramones' considerable output to a greatest hits, but this double CD does a respectable job. As the original boxset stated, it's "2 minutes + 3 chords x 58 tracks"!

The Misfits - Collection, Collection II

Grab a stack of Famous Monsters of Filmland and kick back to these founding fathers of horror punk. 40 songs total, ranging from 45 seconds to just over 3 minutes. With titles such as Night of The Living Dead, Vampira, Astro Zombies, Green Hell, Devil's -----house, & Demonomania, how can you go wrong?

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

Black Flag - Damaged (1981)

The songs aren't bad, but this has to be the worst mastering I have ever heard. Just because it's punk doesn't mean that it has to sound like garbage.

Miles Davis - Ascenseur pour l'echafaud (1958)

Soundtrack to a French noir film. Great stuff.

John Carpenter - Lost Themes (2015)

If you like the atmospheric synth-driven soundtracks of his movies, then you will love this. 9 original tracks by Carpenter, plus 6 remixes.

Best album of 2015?
