I have a question.
When I was in my teens I loved stuff like Helloween,Anthrax,Megadeth,Armored Saint,Man-o-War
etc.etc
Is it weird now that I'm 36 and still remember almost every lyric and still like that type of music?
My wife hates it and my daughter thinks it's just as bad.
I can't explain to them why I still like metal bands, I just do. They think it's loud and angry as do most other people I come across when I'm listening.
No one I know listens to this type of music. I sort of feel odd that I'm listening to things like Metallica's best days when Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets ruled and other people are looking at me like "why can't you just listen to top 40 stuff like everybody else?!"
As a 36 year old who still loves comics and who's wardrobe consists of Cartoon,Comics and Star wars T-shirts, why would I feel awkward listening to
stuff I liked when I was in high school?
It sucks I feel like I have to hide behind headphones when listening to Riot's Thundersteel but I prominently have something like Fritz and the Tantrums playing so the entire apartment complex can hear it.
I have no idea why I feel this way?
Anybody else, or is it just me?
