The Pixies - Indie Cindy(2014)

Collects 3 EPs from late 2013 and early 2014. The absence of Kim Deal is apparent, but all things considered, this is a consistent release from a band that's been around since (gasp) 1986. I salute them.

Herbie Hancock - Head Hunters (1973)

This is some funky funk with jazz and African influences. Also features one of my favorite album covers, designed by Victor Moscoso...

Cheap Trick at Budokan (1978)

The '70s was the decade of the live album, and this is one of the essentials.

It could use some expansion, if possible, and definitely needs to be remastered; however, this is one of the few live albums I can listen to repeatedly.

Black Sabbath - The Dio Years (2007)

Not my favorite era of Black Sabbath, but I do like a few of their songs with RJD.

King Crimson - The Condensed 21st Century Guide to King Crimson: 1969 - 2003 (2006)

It seems that this group has just as many compilation albums as they do studio releases. This is the only KC disc available through my public library, so it'll have to do. It's actually a pretty good overview of their studio recordings, with some abridged tracks.

Pink Floyd - More (1969)

This is the soundtrack to a Belgian film titled More, but it's considered Pink Floyd's 3rd studio album, and their first without founding member Syd Barrett. It works well as a standard release - a mix of regular tracks, plus some instrumentals, with some hints of the harder direction their music would take in the '70s. This is also their first album on which David Gilmour does lead vocals for all tracks. Definitely worth a listen.
