2022 has been dead quiet for Numskull, but things are starting to pick up. 2023 should see a return of regular releases. Space Invaders I and II went up for pre-order today. TMNT and Turtles in Time going up for PO in a couple months. Also, 1/4 accessories coming.

Live stream earlier with Numskull:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDoH...n%27sRetroShow

Not too much news, except that Space Invaders should arrive in November, then they claim they'll be back on track with delivering steady stream of products every two-three months. TMNT, Pepsi hub (up for PO soon), then the three Taito cabs they already teased (Elevator Action, Qix, Zoo Keeper).

Then they announced they have an additional seven cabs licensed, but can't reveal them yet. Presumably later this year.

After finding it sold out, I started searching for it (and others) in my preferred scale - 1/4. Lo and behold, another company, Numskull, is already on the job. Several released, and more to come.

https://numskull.com/quarter-arcades/

They've started in the early 80s, but I will be sending them some suggestions (which they accept on twitter, facebook, etc.), including a 'Street Fighter II'.

The typical gaming population would probably scoff at a unit for ~$160-180 that only plays one game, but these are replicas hitting that nostalgia button foremost. The fact it's a working machine, and the rising cost of statues, makes these look like at pretty sweet collectible bargain. I also like that it's not a one-off, so I can potentially recreate my own mini arcade line-up. I was going to start collecting arcade marquees, but at a similar cost for a complete working mini unit, versus a piece of acrylic, I think I'll opt for these.

Brief post explaining other different 'arcade' products available:

EDIT: (May 28, 2023) Will update this first post as new cabinets are announced for both 1:4 Numskull machines, as well as the 1:6 New Wave Toys/Replicade machines.

It was like having mentors who genuinely cared about my progress. Fast forward, I'm now competing at a pro level and consistently achieving top ranks. Wow massive arcade collection you have!

Today Numskull revealed their last confirmation video for the five cabs they teased a few months ago. They are officially:

BurgerTime
Pong
Bad Dudes vs DragonNinja
Lunar Lander
The Real Ghostbusters

All coming late 2024/2025. Pre-orders not announced yet, but likely next year.

Their next three cabs (all Taito), Zoo Keeper, Qix, and Elevator Action, as well as the Pepsi USB hub and 7UP USB hub, should go up for PO by the end of the year, and be available in the first half of 2024.

Hi, I own several of these. Today, the display of my Bubble Bobble cabinet started showing a vertical white stripe. I contacted Numskul technical service, but to my dismay, they do not offer any repairs or spares out of warranty (I guess they just swap faulty machines for new ones). I could change the display by myself, but could someone here help me find the proper one?

Sorry to hear that.

I don't have any info about the screens, but I've thought about the situation you describe. It concerns me as one would like these to be serviceable, but so far that doesn't appear to be the case.

I know in the near future Numskull will be redesigning the battery to be replaceable, because laws will be changing in the EU mandating it. Maybe it's possible to do the same with the screens?

I know it's not ideal, but Numskull will be re-releasing their older cabinets shortly. Bubble Bobble is first up to be re-released, so you could replace it completely if need be.

Also, if you're on facebook, you should join one or more groups:

Numskull Quarter Arcades Fan Club
Official Quarter Arcades Fan Group
The "Official" Global Replicade (New Wave Toys) Fan Page

I'm more of a Quarter Arcades fan, and I know there are several members that tinker with their cabs, or even make custom ones. They may know of how to replace and source the lcd panel.
