Well I think if you look at comics everything seemed to be going towards bigger and better. It seems like everything (not just in DC) has been trying to be a battle of the biggest and the best. That could be reading too far into things. I also don't think there's ever a wrong time to remind people that a character like Superman isn't always the best option.

You know what I miss? The Batman Legends of the Dark Knight series. New creative teams each story arc, with arcs that only last a few issues.

Ugh. This does NOT sound very good.

I have no problem with Batman saving a crashing plane...I could imagine a few scenarios where he might even be successful doing it...but what you're describing doesn't sound very good, or feasible...

He gets on top of the plane and uses little thruster jet things to rotate it so it doesn't hit buildings. Then he uses the thrusts to pull it up to a safe angle to crash land, prepares to die, and gets saved when the two new mystery heroes catch the plane.

Batman actually prepared himself to die? That doesn't sound like the character we all know and love

He accepted that he was going to die. Told Alfred where he had letters written for the boys if he died, asked Alfred if his parents would have been proud of him. I actually really liked the issue.

I just saw the comic pages. WTF was that? I can see this happening back in the day of the multicolored batman in the 50s but not nowadays. I could see if he took the batjet and used that but riding the plane?!?!?!?

How are you going to change the rotation of a jumbo jet from the batwing?

He put little thruster jets on the wings to spin it. I don't get why people think this is so far out of Batman's realm.
