I have the Designer Series Stanley Lau Catwoman on preorder and was considering the Designer Series Deluxe Alex Ross Batman.
Dito! Not to mention the JSC's Harley Quinn!

I feel really ----ty about this. A lot of good folks lost their jobs, and for what? Doing really good work?

DC Collectibles was not just the best place to get affordable statues, but also small scale ones - period. I am more of Marvel guy myself, but sadly, Marvel has nothing comparable to DCC.

Most importantly though, they were the only ones really willing to go with the whole Comiquette theme spotting all kinds of talents, even "out there" ones like Sho Murase and Chrissie Zullo in recent years. Both lines which I really enjoyed and would not wanna miss.

They are on a roll, too, with McFarlane's amazing Batman, Joelle Jones' Catwoman (really all their Joelle Jones stuff), Jenny Frison's Wonder Woman and much more. Not all of it is for me, but there is such a variety of artists, that I find something to pick up every single year!

Hell, they made my favourite Bruce Timm (WW and Harley), Michael Turner (Supergirl) and Artgerm (again, Supergirl) statues on top of all that, and they were all below like $125.

Bruce Timm is really a case in point. Sideshow made this Animated line, but they showed no interest in really capturing BT's unique style. Instead they went with a generic cartoon style derived from different iterations of DC cartoons. It is not bad, mind you, quality and beautiful pieces for sure, but not what I am personally looking for. I love BT's style and these pieces give me the "uncanny valley" effect, close but just off enough to make me feel very iffy.

DC Direct got me into collecting in the 1st place. I branched out since then, but frankly, I am not interested in just about 90% of what Sideshow, XM Studios, Prime1 etc. are putting out for the simple reason that I am not into that whole "random face" thing. Don't get me wrong, there are tons of beautiful pieces out there, but I do prefer my comic statues to look like ... weirdly enough: actual comics, not like some pretty, but nondescript kinda-actual-human-face.

Sorry for the rant! Still, a shame, and the folks at DC Collectibles deserved so much better, I hope they all find gainful employment some place else soon, some place they are appreciated.

Maybe something good will come of this, at least for us collectors, and DC will work closely with 3rd parties to keep these lines alive. As someone who appreciates comic-based art, this has really been the worst news by far since I started collecting

Waiting for someone to upload a video review of the Designer Series Alex Ross Batman before I decide to get it. From the initial production pics I've seen the neck seam looks bad.

I completely get you. One of the reasons why I started collecting these was because of the price point. I'm not going to buy the same statues for like 200 dollars. Thats just not worth it for me. The Bombshells and DS for around $130 was just great. I still need the last 3 bombshells, but i'm not that excited anymore to get them because of all this.

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

I got Mary Shazam. Had to return twice and then destroy the third due to damage. I didn’t get Huntress cause I wasn’t crazy for her face sculpt. Really disappointed. Because the Joelle Jones was the only CG set that I had that was complete. I am looking forward to Campbell’s Cover Girls. But how expensive are they going to be. I can’t shell out 200 and 300 a statue. Not realistic.
