Well, yeah, it's interesting. The toys (vintage, 2002, Classics) have represented the belt and helmet as being the same color, a light blue. In the cartoon, the belt and helmet are more of a bluish grey, but they are the same tone. The statue is sort of splitting the difference, making the helmet more cartoon accurate and the belt more like the toy. It's less source-accurate, for sure.

In visual terms, I personally like the change.

He's looking great! I kind of agree about the blast effect. Not totally sold, but I THINK I'm liking it overall. The gun with the axe on it is my favorite.

I think this angle shows off the blast effect best. I'm liking it more as I flip through pics:
