What is best method to cut statues into parts?

Hello all,
I am thinking of getting into customizing pre-made statues and busts and needed advice on how to start.

What is the best way to go about cutting off a head or hand/arm off of a statue to re-position and resculpt them?
I want to customize some Bowen statues as well as others made of porcelain.

And what kind of materials should I use as I am very limited in space and do not have a large machine or garage to work in.

Any advice would help.
Thank you all for your time.

Cutting off an arm or leg can be tricky. A lot of statues aren't solid, they'll be somewhat hollow on the inside. I would use a Dremel tool with the bendable, extended attachment on the end. That will give you more control over your cut.

Thanks for the replies.

I was afraid of the hollow insides or even air bubbles that will crack and split half way through cutting. I will have to see what kind of attachments are best for cutting.
Do you suggest a small saw like attachment or straight drill bit type?

And lol yeah it sounds bad. I couldn't word it so it doesn't sound so horror movie like. But certain statues I really like the overall sculpt, just not the positioning of certain parts.
I keep thinking, "if I could only twist the head and neck to the side more or bend the wrist a little more, it'll be perfect."

Thanks again

I use these. Just basic cutting discs you can pick up at Wal-Mart.

Thanks for the help. I will try those attachments.
Do you recommend a specific type of dremel? I prefer one that is smaller and hand held.

Well everything depends largely on what attachments you want to use with your dremmel and how easily those are connected. As well as you would prefer something smaller and hand held I would recommend one between dremmel 4000 and 4300. Here is sth https://drilling-it.com/dremel-4000-vs-dremel-4300/ you can use making your choice

The Drexelís are good but donít have depth to it, I have a sonic crafter multi tool and it is the way to go for me, especially with the wire cutter attachment, donít even know if they even make that attachment for the multi tool anymore, hope this helps.
