The main draw of a commission, for me, is that it was done FOR ME. Discussing the theme and layout with the artist is fun, and a small chance to be a part of a favorite creators work. Plus, I get so see, and share, something that may have never happened otherwise. I got a Superman piece from Paul Ryan, well before he did Superman. I had a Daredevil, which I sold a long time ago dammit, by Tim Sale which was his first. I also enjoy when the artist puts a different spin on the character. So a commission is always 'worth it' to me. But then, I don't buy for investment either.
