Not always, and it depends on the pose. If you look at a side tricep or most muscular, some muscle striation separation is shown, but it's not always perfectly symmetrical. That my friend is called perfect genetics that not everyone has.
I think it looks fine.

Jerry likely added it as a realistic touch for his sculpting but asymmetry definitely bothers people.
