Weta's District 9 Exo-suit up for order

It's up for pre-order guys. Only 600 being made . . . not cheap but I just had to get one (cheaper for those at the SDCC). Here's the description from Weta's site:

Dimensions:11.8" x 9.8" x 9.8" (H x W x D)
30 cm x 25 cm x 25 cm
Weight:6.6lbs (3 Kg)

Prize item in Nigerian crimelord and gun runner Obesandjo's stash of alien weaponry, the alien exosuit provides Wikus van der Merwe with a much needed advantage in the epic final battle against Koobus and his Reaction Force troops.

Designed for the District 9 movie by Weta Designer Greg Broadmore, this awesome piece of equipment is fully featured for serious battle in alien worlds. It sports an array of weapons and communications systems, most of which are beyond what human scientists can fathom, let alone replicate.

Look closely and you will see not only the Arc Generator, but also the Assault Rifle mounted to the exterior of this massive exoskeletal power suit.

It's a tank with arms and legs - mess with it at your peril.

Modeled with fanatical attention to detail by Weta Senior Modelmaker David Tremont and art directed by Greg Broadmore, this piece has been created by the very same artists and craftsmen who worked on the movie.

Being such an iconic feature in the film, the Exosuit will feature on the cover of The Art of District 9, scheduled for release later this year.

Produced in a strictly limited edition of only 600 world wide and being such an incredibly detailed model, the Exosuit is likely to be very popular and we recommend pre-ordering to avoid disappointment.

I agree . . . I love the detail but it should have been bigger, I'm still up for one as I love the design . . . interesting price too when you consider the price of the Arc and Assault Rifle. This would be better priced at about $299.00 IMHO

$600? (I can't seem to get into the Weta site right now)

Damn, it's a little small for 6 bills. Is it actually metal?

There's no description of the materials used, but at 3 kgs it has a bit of weight to it for something only 30 cms high ?

Here's some more pics from Weta's site . . . it does look insanely detailed :

HOLY CRAP! It looks great, but it's way too small, and the most overpriced piece I've seen in some time. How can they possibly justify that price?!? Hell, the righteously made Iron Man and War Machine by Legacy are priced even lower that this, are almost twice as tall and also have lights! Wow. What a big disappointment.
