I figured this would happen eventually but it does suck. And before anyone says anything, sorry, I think Prime is WAY overrated for what it costs.

Even with Prime?

Prime is only worth it if you chip in for it. Otherwise it's a rip off.

Also with Prime, if you own a Kindle you can borrow a book a month from their lending library. Not a horrible thing, but better than a swift kick in the nuts.

I find that I am subbed to Hulu+, Amazon, and Netflix... and only really use Netflix. But the Monthly Prime is not horrible for $7.00 a month.

Prime is worth it to me. Both my Mother and Sister use it, though I don't ask them to chip in. I buy a lot of Blu-rays, 90% of which are purchased through Amazon so in my case the free shipping validates the Prime membership fee and the two day shipping is great.

I order a couple of things a month on average. Just got done with a Prime trial in August and nothing got to me any faster than it did when I use the free Super Saver option. They have a warehouse in N. Kentucky so shipping to me is fast already, this won't be the case for everyone I suppose.

I had a feeling this would happen relatively soon. I also have Prime, and my family orders so much from Amazon that it is definitely worth it.

Not surprising. A lot of companies are upping the free shipping. It was only to get people to shop on the Internet anyways back in the day. I'll just wait to order longer is all. But the day Amazon charges tax and has $50-$75 free shipping is the day I'll probably stop or drastically slow down using Amazon. Even though I just stick to stuff they can't mess up. CDs, some DVDs, wrapped books. But they really need to pack stuff better.

Doesn't affect me. I always compile my trade orders 6 to 9 months ahead of time and take the free shipping options. If down the road I need one thing I will just cancel something on preoder and add it with the new purchase.
