After having your name put on the list, you should have ended the call with, "And I'll just need your first and last name and your store number. I'm expecting a return call from Hasbro and minute now."

It might be that they are not scheduled for release until 9/1 and therefore they are not in the system yet.
I would have tried letting them scan an older Star Wars Mugg four times.

Well yesterday I went to a different walmart and picked up Dooku, Rex, and Anakin without a problem. I also asked the cashier if she knew of a recall or was having trouble with toys and she just looked at me like I was crazy.

So I really dont know what happened but I at least know there is not a recall making owning muggs a health issue.

Now on to find Asajj

I used to work in retail and sometimes the toys would have release dates on them especially with the Star Wars toys. This could have been the case.

that could be, i really have no idea, i haven't heard of this problem with any other muggers, and as far as my retail history i have never seen something on the shelf, had it in my hand, and then been refused the item at the register.
This must just be another one of life's great mysteries.

That happened to me - I tried to buy some new Hulk items that were out at Toys R Us - I went to pay for them and I was told they were put out by accident and that they can't sell them until next week. I was so angry!

I call BS.

I've worked as a Manager of the Toy Dept of a retail store.

If anything does get recalled, it most likely gets pulled off the shelve that morning when we get out mail. If not, we get a lot of **** for it.

Most likely it just wasn't in the system for some reason and he would have had to do a bunch of work to get a price. (ie, call someone more important than him and get them to do a price override),

Probably he didn't want to deal with the three minute hassle.

I'm guessing a release date wasn't in effect yet, and someone put them out by mistake.

Driving from Vegas to San Diego for comic-con, my wife and I stopped at a Toys R Us on the way there. They had an entire isle already out of the Clone Wars figures 2 days before the release date.

We picked a few things up, went to the register.

Left the store completely empty handed! lol The sales clerk couldn't get them to ring up, they came up "date sensitive" or something like that, and the manager freaked when she saw they were out. Apologizing left and right as she quickly took them away from us and called her stock room to get everything pulled

*shrugs* some people just can't read packing boxes
