LOL, I'm not making excuses, just factually disputing your assertion that he is terrible or more specifically the worst in the league. For the life of me I don't understand your and many others hatred of this guy.
You seemed to like the QB rating as a measure so I was just using first year numbers to show that the first years don't always tell the tale. Still, you are right, the game was different back then, so let's stick with the modern QB's.
To begin with, the QB rating isn't very friendly to Tebow's style of play and certainly doesn't take into account everything he does. Still his career QB rating (according to ESPN) is 75.1. Not great but better than the career QB ratings of:
Mark Sanchez 73.2
Sam Bradford 74.2
Vince Young 74.4 (2 time pro bowler)
Ryan Fitzpatrick 75.0
Modern QB's all and other than Sanchez either are or were considered really good and franchise type QB's.
Look, all I am saying is Tebow is good for the Jets. His style fits them. They have a great defense and the kryptonite for great defense is if the offense turns the ball over a lot. Sanchez turns it over regularly, Tebow doesn't. Neither are going to put up Aaron Rogers or Mathew Stafford numbers but the Jets are built differently than those teams and win differently. And the Jets gave up almost nothing for him. They now have a back up QB that has starter experience, is young, and can actually win games for you if Sanchez gets hurt.
If Sanchez sux and the fans start wanting Tebow then maybe they should. I just don't see how Sanchez has earned pampering and no competition for a job that he really isn't doing that great at.
But you shouldn't worry. I don't think he is Rex's kind of player and he likely will not use him much if at all and he loves Sanchez for whatever reason.
