in theory it is
but out of what is present on screen
only 20-30% felt like a comic book movie

Very easily. All 3 are films based on well known comic book characters.
I forgot to add Hellboy to the mix, because I've not read his comic books.
Either way, that was how I categorized them, and for me Batman is the
absolute best of the group, followed closely by Iron Man, and then the Hulk.
Hellboy I'm just keeping separate as I don't consider him the same style of super-hero.

IMO, they are all comic book movies based on fantasy. One just happens to be more serious than the other two.
Exactly. TDK takes comic book movies to a different level story-wise and is an epic film, but at the end of the day, it is what it is...a comic book movie. Just happens to be the best of the bunch.

While this movie may be great which I will see tomorrow do you think they are making it more than it is due to Heath dying? I think that but who knows my opinion will probably change after tomorrow.

Obviously you're never read a graphic novel.

Obviously is a movie about a Supehero nobody is arguing that, if thats what you thought I meant then youre an idiot

Im saying the typical presentation of this movie is not in a similar fashion of what they have been in the past 20 years
they are presenting the story in a different fashion

thats basically it
all people are meaning by these comparisons is that the movie presents itself in a non uniform manner to what normal comic book movies consist of

nobodys arguing that its not at all a fantasy story about a superhero
it just plays like a regular crime drama
Heat in comparison to the opening scene and the kinship between good and eveil batman and twoface\Joker--> Pacino \deniro
Departed-the twists and turns and unexpectancies, the tyranny of the mob(evil), Some1 who is good but is getting evil by all the crap and situations around him-(harvey)(decaprio)
I can go on on how the other comparisons work but I think this should suffice

thats what people mean with the comparison (at least the critics and smart people do, monkey fanboys will just be like OH thats a sick movie and this is Just as sick a MOvie::.... SICK! :P )
theres absolutely nothing else to it.
