I think it's a joke that Wonder Woman isn't viable because of her mythological background. I would absolutely love to see Olympus, Zeus, and all the rest. Maybe they can introduce her in the JLA movie, bring in elements of her Olympian heritage in that movie, (seriously, Olympian elements wouldn't be anymore far out than everything else the JLA will be dealing with), and then do the Wonder Woman solo movie after the JLA movie...

Have you ever imagined a world with no hypothetical situations?

that movie kicks ass. and she does all of her own stunts in that flick too.
and i mean all of them.
I didn't like Salt that much. I think I reviewed it here on the SF. But her character did become sort of a superhero in the end with all the stuff she could do. I just thought it was a fairly dumb action wannabe serious spy/thriller type predicable movie.

This was one of my biggest problems with that Wonder Woman pilot.

Anymore movies with female leads? This could be the problem if no one here can come up with a good one. There are Kate Beckinsale's action movies but I'm pretty sure they don't do anywhere near superhero numbers. I'm talking Underworld and Whiteout.

Why are you asking for movies with female leads anyway?

Because that's what the suits are probably doing. Looking for profitable female action movies to establish a base. The fact that we can't come up with good ones is not a good sign. Joss Whedon pointed to the failures of Elektra and Catwoman. Not by name but those are the two I'm sure he meant.

I'm sure Marvel will take the risk first with a female superhero movie. It probably won't be with Black Widow though.

Over the years they have basically turned Wonder Woman into a female Superman, she can fly, she's indestructible, IMO the latest comic books have made her to powerful... For a movie your going to have to strip her of some of her more recent powers... flight for one and being impervious to any damage the other... They're going to need to tone down her strength also, she shouldn't be as strong as Superman. You have Supergirl for that.

I think they will have to really re-create Wonder Woman in order to make it work on the big screen for a general audience.. IMO what works in the comic books will not work on the big screen.
